The world can be a daunting place. And, if we're being honest, it can sometimes be easier to just say we can't do something rather than deal with being told no, or running the risk of failure or embarrassment. But, more often than not, it's our own fears and worries of stepping outside 'the norm' that hold us back the most.

It was all fun and games at first. June was full of promise, Football was coming home and we looked ahead to long days gallivanting in picturesque beer gardens with reckless abandon. By mid-July, our skin suitably bronzed, we could retreat to the cool confines of an air-conditioned room content with our fill of British summer.

After an impossibly long, hot summer, September has arrived and with it an eclectic mix of 'in-between' bare-legged and baggy-jumpered outfits, new stationery lining the shelves and the startling realisation we're now measuring the time until Christmas in 'sleeps'. Fast forward four years down the line and one year abroad later, involving larger loans, grants and bursaries (arghhh more money related terms and agreements I don’t fully understand) and the reality of actually having to think about paying back student loans has hit.
